Deborah Gammell - Scotland Ambassador
Working as WCorp Ambassador in Scotland allows Deborah to raise awareness of the systemic and structural changes organisations can make to create environments which are more conducive to the safety and progress of women.
Deborah is a passionate advocate for gender equity across all domains with a particular curiosity for women in business. She is a researcher within the leadership genre, using literature as the benchmark to compare current data, reports and statistics. With a background in Recruitment, Relationship Management and Business Partnering roles, Deborah has more recently been involved in a family-owned scale-up, learning more about the entrepreneurial ecosystem, including the funding biases and sponsorship gaps experienced by female founders. Deborah has a degree in English Studies and Feminist Critical Theory along with more recent qualifications in Executive and Non-Executive Leadership from the Edinburgh Business School. She is an NLP Practitioner with several coaching accreditations.
Deborah is committed to engaging business leaders on the subject of workplace reform and discussing the multiple advantages of creating gender diverse teams. She aspires to bridge the knowledge gap between academic research and corporate businesses by making current data more actionable. This allows for greater talent retention and career progression, ultimately creating a pipeline of women to join the top tables and contribute to the key commercial decisions which affect all of us.
