Gender Disparity: Lack of women on boards costs the UK 54 billion pounds
Sep 13, 2024The pinnacle of British business remains a male-dominated realm. As of 2022, the FTSE 100 boasts only 10 female CEOs, dwarfed by 89 male counterparts. The disparity widens further in the FTSE 250, where there are only 10 women in the top spot compared to 163 men.
The Economic Impact of Gender Disparity
This is important because ultimately gender disparity is costing the UK economy dearly.
How?
"If the 120 companies with less than 25% women on their ExCo were to perform with the same profit margin as those companies with more than 25% women on their ExCo, this would mean an additional £54 billion in pre-tax profit for the UK economy, and an additional £900 million in pre-tax profit for each of these companies on average."

A staggering £54 billion boost to the UK's economy!!!
Slow Progress in Corporate Boards
While the gender makeup of British corporate boards is gradually improving, the pace of change remains frustratingly slow. Nearly seven out of ten companies in the FTSE 350 lack evenONE single female executive director on their main boards.
Hence WCorp.
WCorp: A Solution to the Gender Gap
WCorp was founded from my 15 years of coaching CEOs and Senior Executives across various sectors and industries, and witnessing the same problem repeatedly.
At its worst, the working environment is so difficult for women to thrive in, they are being driven out of the workforce, unable to perform at their best. And even when women stay on and run organisations, they face the same challenges of isolationism, criticism, hostility.
Retaining and Attracting Women in Business
Rather than allowing this mass exodus, we are fighting to retain and attract more women. If we don’t, the global economy will miss out on at least $12 trillion—and that’s a conservative estimate.
